My parents, and I’m sure yours too never tired of saying ‘what is worth doing is worth doing well..’. In this series, I have tried to discuss the habits that make for a healthy and wealthy life. In week 1, we looked at the gains of continuously learning, in week 2, investing in yourself and last week about Valuing those around you. Today I would like to cap it up with the concept of Excellence. Excellence is that quality that makes you shelve mediocrity for a superior quality; it’s the mind-set of doing things to the very best of one’s ability, regardless of the inconvenience experienced. Excellence aims for the top spot in the execution of tasks and its results are obvious to all.
One thing that will stand you out amongst crowds is the spirit of excellence. Can I encourage you that before you seal of any task as completed, ask yourself ‘Is this the best I can give?’ If the answer is No, then revisit that task and keep working on it until you look back at it and feel the pride of being associated with that’s task. When you learn to do this and master being excellent at all times, you will begin to live a life of significance and increase!
