Who are your FRIENDS?

This week I received a photobook I ordered in the post – the purpose of the photobook was to showcase the whole of last year: from my birthday in 2014 to 2015 – don’t mind me and my eccentrics 🙂 . Back to my topic, while looking through it with my husband, we both laughed at the fact that I had so many birds flying and my hubby casually joked about it. I responded by saying it’s because this new year, I plan to ascend higher heights, it’s my year to fly… I had barely said the words when this series of Minute Motivation came to mind. Truly, what makes us FLY? There are definitely lots of factors but permit me to go to my acronym cupboard and suggest the following –

Friends – who are your FRIENDS?
Love – what do you LOVE?
Y – WHY are you here?

F: Who are your FRIENDS?
You’ve heard it said before – ‘show me your friends and I will show you who you are’, ‘walk with the wise and you will become wise’. All clichés I know but there is a lot of truth in it. I have great friends, for which I am grateful and a few days ago, I was reflecting on how my life has been shared by my friends – I have friends who have greatly influenced my outlook to life, friends who have proven their commitment and loyalty time and time again; friends who never allow me rest on my laurel but gently prod me on towards the next goal… I might not be the Doyin I am today, but for my friends. I have chosen to discuss the issue of FRIENDS today because I want you to take a minute and reflect on your friends. Do your friends power you up or pull you down? Do your friends make you feel better about tomorrow? One power you still have is the power to choose who you hang out with. Exercise that power and surround yourself with the right friends.
